I Believe in Blue: 2012

Today is the first day of the 2012 NHL playoffs. We have the green light to go ahead and make another series of quilts celebrating the Vancouver Canucks “Run for the Cup 2012.” Like last year, we are making one quilt for every game won by the Canucks and they will be given to the children who access Canuck Place Children’s Hospice when the playoffs are over. http://www.canuckplace.org/ We understand that the quilts received last year are very popular. We donated 15 game winning quilts plus 2 extras. This year, I designed the quilt to have some elements the same as the 2011 version. The 2012 quilt size is 43″ x 55″ and is made up of two different blocks and two borders. How this works: Canuck fans purchase kits for their quilting friends to complete and donate to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Quilt kits are available through Maple Leaf Quilters for $40.  To let Val or Joan know that you are interested in purchasing a kit contact them at mapleleafquilters@gmail.com Enough fabric is included for the top, backing and binding. We will supply the basic pattern and ask you to use your imagination for designing a one of a kind quilt. Photos from last years quilt can be viewed on Maple Leaf Quilters Facebook Page.
