Between Games: The Maritime Beauty

It’s amazing how much one can complete when they are not glued to the TV watching hockey! There has been a lot of down time waiting for the Stanley Cup Final to begin so I’ve taken to completing the class sampler for the Maritime Beauty quilt. I am excited to be teaching this workshop in Powell River in June. Joan and I are committed to using Canadian quilt patterns and this one is designed by Karen Neary of Sew Karen-ly Created, Amherst, Nova Scotia.  This pattern is a variation on the New York Beauty block and was a lot of fun to make. This table topper has both paper piecing and curved piecing. Perfect size to learn both techniques. The pattern also includes a placemat. Finished size is 30″ x 30″ and 16″x 18.”
