As the Season Ends

The Vancouver Canucks made a valiant run for the cup in this 40th year of their existence. They completed 15 wins, falling short by just one to bring home the Stanley Cup. It’s been an awesome year to be a Canucks fan with all the stories and highlights of this team since it’s inception. In 1970 I was proudly wearing the Stick in the Rink logo on my jacket and wearing mini skirts. In the 2010/11 season I continued to wear the Stick in the Rink logo on my jerseys but, my skirts are much longer! I AM forever a Canuck fan, win or lose, they are my team. It was very disheartening to see the distruction of Vancouver after the loss but it was most heartwarming to see Vancouverites and fans come out in numbers to clean up their city. Even though the hockey season is over, the quilts for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice continue to be made. Somewhere along the way we may have even picked up an extra 2 quilts. When they have been gathered from all the communities that they are being made, I will post pictures. So, here’s to an exceptional season and I can’t wait until October. I Believe in Blue.
