December 2012 Sewing Day

The last MLQ sewing day for 2012 was full of good cheer, great food and wonderful people. The lunch counter quickly filled up with cookies from the cookie exchange organized by Liz. Apparently it was so successful that next years cookie quota will double. I just got mine baked yesterday so mine didn’t make it to the exchange …lol.

We did a Secret Santa gift exchange as well but I seriously don’t know who got what as I was busy taking pictures and helping with some unintentional design problems…a seam ripper was a necessary tool. :)

I did, however, steal this from my niece! She had hers stolen from her and chose this gift because she liked the wrapping paper…I’m pretty sure I’ll get more use out of it than she would…it’ll get used tonight when I need to cut apart my binding strips.

Joan out did herself again making us Monte Cristo sandwiches with fruit salad. Dessert was this very delicious Chocolate Pecan Tart

As usual, one of the highlights of the day is the show and share:

Lorraine has the most beautiful wool quilts. All hand appliqued. Her work is amazing!

Ruth pieced the borders on this Crazy Reindeer panel and it's making it's way to Germany. Too cute!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Quilting to you…Valerie Raye and Joan
