The 3rd annual quilt camp was a huge success. Lots of quilting, wine tasting, fine dining, quilto and quilt fairy magic filled the 3 nights and 4 days. Campers travelled from Vernon, Vancouver Island, Powell River and the lower mainland to attend this extended retreat…that extra day was definitely a hit and we are happy to say we’ve booked the same number of days for next year: May 22-25, 2015.
Each camper’s bed was adorned with an Australian Homespun magazine and 3″ square maple leaf sugar cookie. As well, every sewing station received a journal with quilted cover and a pen. Every morning a new fat quarter would appear on each sewing machine…awesome as fat quarters are used to buy into the quilto game. We also had 8 layer cakes to give away, one at each meal.
There were two projects again this year, one a Winter Seed Table topper and the other a Cargo Duffle Bag…see the May 8th post for links to these patterns. There were several flimsies completed and many more started. Debbie finished quilting and binding her Quilt of Valor…it is awesome. As usual the food at Edenvale was top notch keeping everyone happy and healthy at the same time. Check out Maple Leaf Quilters Facebook page and the album #edenvalequiltcamp.
Happy Quilting…Valerie Raye
