And the start of my favourite month! We’ve been busy over the summer with gardening & holidays and now it’s time to get back to work on the sewing machines. September will bring us a wedding, a quilting retreat and a longarm quilter’s seminar for Joan. Sewing days are starting up in October. Our first day is Saturday, October 3rd. November 14 & December 12 are the other two days set aside for 2015. Contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in a spot.
At the November sewing day I will be working on 25″ round table toppers using the 10* wedge ruler. We’ve made them in all colours and they are quick and easy to do. More info on this as the November sewing day nears.
The other thing that I want to do this fall is a label challenge. I made this small quilt for CQA 2013 using the Fat Tire beer label as inspiration for the vines and sunshine theme. You can start by choosing a label, any label that inspires you and then gather your fabrics, etc. I’ll set out the rules before October 1st…these won’t be big and should be fast to finish.

Happy Quilting…Valerie Raye
